Cambridge CPE exam preparation: course description

A Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE) is the highest-level qualification – proof that you are a highly competent speaker of English. It shows the world that you have mastered English to an exceptional level. It proves you can communicate with the fluency and sophistication of a highly competent English speaker.
Preparing for and passing the exam means you have the level of English that’s needed to study or work in a very senior professional or academic environment, for example on a postgraduate or PhD programme.

Cambridge CPE exam preparation: course: sample syllabus

Reading and Writing:
Understand documents, correspondence and reports, including the finer points of
complex texts.
Write letters on any subject and full notes of meetings or seminars with good expression and accuracy.
Understand legal binding agreements in detail, including main implications.
Write letters on any subject with good expression and accuracy.
Understand reports and articles likely to be encountered during his/her work, including complex ideas expressed in complex language.
Make full and accurate notes and continue to participate in a meeting or seminar.
Understand reports and articles likely to be encountered during his/her work/studies, including complex ideas expressed in complex language.

Listening and Speaking:
Advise on or talk about sensitive issues, understanding colloquial references and dealing confidently with hostile questions.
Talk about complex or sensitive issues without awkwardness.
Advise on/handle complex, delicate or contentious issues, such as legal or financial matters, to the extent that he/she has the necessary specialist knowledge.
Understand colloquial asides and cultural allusions.
