YLE Cambridge Movers English exam preparation course description

Cambridge Movers YLE English Young Learners is the second of three Cambridge English YLE tests for children between the ages of 7 and 12. This test will encourage your child to communicate in real-life situations in English and create a positive attitude to language tests.

YLE Cambridge Movers English exam preparation course outcomes

By the end of this course your child will:

– Become better prepared for the Cambridge examinations
– Practise skills in Speaking, Writing, Reading and Listening
– Build up confidence in speaking English
– Learn how to express themselves more clearly


YLE Cambridge Movers English exam preparation sample syllabus

Listening and Speaking:
Agree or disagree with someone, using phrases such as ‘I think so’, ‘You are right’, ‘I don’t think so’
Ask questions and use fixed expressions, such as‘How much is/are …?’, ‘What’s the matter?’, ‘I’m good at …’
Understand when somebody talks about their family or friends in simple sentences.
Ask somebody about how they are and what they like doing and answer similar questions
Understand instructions given by the teacher in the classroom, such as ‘You must do this’, ‘Take off your coats’
Ask questions about school activities, for example classroom tasks, homework, holidays

Reading and Writing:
Understand simple sentences if they read them slowly and several times
Write simple sentences, using words given to them
Understand simple stories and shorter texts with the help of pictures and drawings
Write about what they like doing in their free time, using words given to them
Understand signs and simple notices
Continue a story or text that has been started in English or add words that are missing
